A3 57 plate 170bhp dsg fault

Hi everyone. This is my first posting and could do with your help please!
I'm having problems with the wife's A3 DSG gearbox. I've been told the Mecatronix (if that's how you spell it) is on its way out cos the gearbox is jerking when setting off or when slowing down to a stop then accelerating. Thing is it's supposed to be around £2000 for a new VAG replacement. Just wondering if anybody has had this problem and has got any ideas how to put it right without forking 2k out. Have you had the gearbox serviced? Needs to have oil changed every 20K and oil and filter every 40K. If this hasn't been done, its the cheapest place to start. Ask for a DSG gearbox oil double flush and filter change from the specialist who services your car. Make sure it is a specialist as a DSG special oil filling tool is required. Good luck

Thanks for your reply. Yes the gearbox has had a service recently. It's got full Audi service history and I've had it flushed since then but with no difference. I've been told it won't get any worst but won't get any better anyway!
