Hey new to this. I bought a Audi TT 1.8T (225) Quattro 3 weeks ago. Went to get it remapped today and when it was placed on rolling road only the front wheels turned? They ran diagnostics but no faults were given! It's my first German car and I have no clue. Was wondering if anyone had any advice? The garage said they would investigate but instead of me paying them I was hoping someone could come up with a solution or help.

    Thanks in advance

    Andrew

Did the rolling road have 1 or 2 rollers? You do know the haldex system fitted to your car (not proper quattro btw) only sends power to the back wheels when the fronts lose grip so this is what you're (in my mind) seeing.

If you put your number plate into one of those car apps, it will tell you if it has Quattro or not

It does have Quattro. It was a perfect launch when I got the car and now you can feel all the power going to the front wheels.

sounds like the haldex has failed. common issue is the earth strap on it at the rear diff. that can fail. or the multi plugs get water in, or you just need a new filter and oil.you need a special tool to do the filter and the oil is drained then new oil from a tube squeezed into the drain hole.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure or have knowledge about my audi yet. Should it bring up any lights or errors on a diagnostics? I'm not going to be doing the work this time to fix it but just trying to understand it all.

    Again cheers for the reply

Hello. Finally found out what was wrong. It was some switch that connected to the brake lights. It was telling the haldex the brake lights were on there for disabling the 4wd system.

Absolutely and for anybody who is unsure, all 225's are quattro ( well haldex )
