So I'm going to be removing some trim... but I don't really have the tools for it. Where do people get their trim tools from?

Lots times instructions will say to use a plastic wedge/lever/spatula etc. In other cars I might just jam a screwdriver in, but in the A6 I don't want to damage anything! Hence I want to get proper trim tools.

Also, what about VAG specific trim tools? Elsa instructions I'm following mention "Lever 80-200", "Wedge T40280", and "Wedge 3409".

I got a generic set off eBay. They were only a few pounds and work wonders.

As said, a generic set of trim wedges from eBay are fine for most small bits and pieces. If you're doing any big panels (e.g. door cards, bootlid) the fasteners are tougher and most plastic tools aren't really designed for the job.

I bought some trim pliers like this which worked well on the A6 door cards: Silverline Van Car Trim Clip Removal Pliers Tool Remover Automotive 927687 New | eBay To stop damaging the paintwork I wrapped the metal ends in cloth tape, but I'd still advise having some touch up paint handy to prepare for the inevitable! Using these, I managed to remove the door cards without breaking a clip, something I never achieved on my last car!
