I haven't actually done this yet (currently in the planning stage!), but let's say that I've managed to set off component protection by swapping some modules around. How do I go about removing it?

I'm pretty sure that it's not something that I can do myself in VCDS... so who can do it? Any recommendations of specialists/dealers that can do it for me?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the reply . Is that a typo, or do you mean I need to find someone else?

I suspect that is a typo! I certainly had CP removed by my local dealer when I fitted a new head unit.
They did it for £25 when the car was in for other work.

Rung the local dealer as the car needs a service anyway. I'm not entirely convinced that the customer service advisor really understood what I meant by component protection (to be fair that could be due to my poor explanation!), but fingers crossed the message gets through to the workshop .
