Frustration! Latest Sat Nav software versions and changes

Be aware that the MMI 3G+ shipped with FL cars is not the same as the one shipped previously (if nothing else it is able to use 4G/LTE for the data connection) and therefore there is no certainty that the software version shipping with these care is compatible with the pre-FL cars.

They use a completely different numbering system (see here for the facelift versions) .

HN+R_EU_AU_K0783 is for the pre-facelift Q3/A6/A7/A8.

Just a note. On my fl when I plugged a SIM card in it said there are maps update available and wanted to download about 1gb of data for the update for uk maps and about 4gb including all other countries.
clicked cancel as that would take an age and my allowance will be shot too.
This is all through the Audi connect so I presume if you have a data connection it's updates the maps without you having to go to dealers and pay. £200 is a bit steep considering it's free on most smart phones and the top of the line tomtom won't set you back that much.

That's good to hear that the facelift A6 can do updates for free. Though it seems quite a lot of data to be downloading over a SIM... seems a shame that the car can't join your home's WiFi and do it over your broadband!

The whole charging for Navigation updates thing is a complete con. For my old portable Garmin satnav I bought the lifetime map updates once and that's it, free updates forever. And that was considerably cheaper than the Audi!

Yes, starting with the FL A6 and the new A3 for those with Audi Connect get 5 free updates over the first 3 years ownership (one every 6 months). Hopefully there is an option to download off the Audi Connect website so you can update using an SD card rather than having to do it via a 4g connection

To be honest for me it will be quicker on 3G or 4g cause my home broadband is only 2mb

There are now two new versions that I am aware of:

Media version (MMI Firmware): HN+R_EU_AU_K0783
Nav. database version (Navigation Maps): 8R0060884BT ECE 6.19.3

Has anyone here got these yet? Either on a new build, or as a dealer update.

ETKA lists BT as 2014/2015 Europe maps. It does also list a 2015 Europe, ending CH.

Drove it a decent bit today. Can confirm that

1. Some roads that were missing on 6.15.5 are now included on 6.19.3
2. There are some new roads that are not yet included on 6.19.3
