Hi all for the last four weeks my heaters haven't been getting hot and it makes a kind of fluffing sound every now and again from behind the dash so I was going to flush the matrix out this weekend however I started the car up bit lumpy but cleared and it was find drove it down the carriage way 70 mpg fine power normal pick my mrs up from work same journey 20mind of 30 mph driving all fine parked up then when I started it about 4 hours later on the first start it stalled kinda strange never done that before so started again lumpy and wanted to stall so I pumped the pedal to keep it going loads of white smoke it's a bre engine 2.0 tdi 140 bhp
    Any ideas ????

Could be the egr cooler leaking water into the air intake and causing steam out of the exhaust, but if it smells of diesel it could be an injector problem. The water leak is most likely and can cause the car to lock up on start up,you should see water in the intake pipe if its that.

Would the leaking egr make it stall and run lumpy plus no heat I thought head gasket but it seems like it could be anything on these dam engines

    Hi
Im having same issues. Where did you get EGR COOLER from?, how much did you pay for it? did you fit yourself? my heater has been running cold and I had smoke coming out exhausts. I bypassed the EGR COOLER an now no smoke from exhaust.
soory for all the questions, just keen to sort this issue out Soooooo frustrating ay!
