Quick question... I drive an A3 1.9 TDIe and over the last couple of days I've had an issue that occurs very randomly and infrequently. I'm driving along and the car loses power and no matter how many times I press the accelerator I get no increase in speed, there are no warning lights on the dash.

Further testing seems to show the fault happen when in 3rd but I have noticed in other gears but not 5th (5 speed). As soon as I dip the clutch and reengage it the power returns and I can drive normally, dipping the clutch to change gear or remain in the current gear.

Before I go to Audi and ask for their opinion which would involve a - we'd need to look at it and stick it on the computer kind of response, I'd like to see if some people have experienced this before thanks!

It could be anything hence the need for a fault scan. Instead of going to Audi go to a Audi specialist instead and save yourself some money.
