Aux,port

Hi having a bit of trouble with the aux port on my audi 2008 a4 it has the audi concert system,the port is below the arm rest and i am trying to connect my ipod with it but get a loud hum when the jack is fully pushed in to the port it will play the music but the hum is in the background.if i dont fully push the jack in i still hear the music but only on one side of the car ie passengers speakers not the drivers can anyone tell me what the problem is i have vcds if there is anything in there that can help..thanks.. when i bought the cable the guy checked it in the shop through my ipod and it worked ok so i know its not the cable or the ipod..

hi folks think i have found the problem its the ipod tried an iphone 4 in it and worked ok so must be a problem with the software on ipod thanks anyway..

If it's a iPod classic/Video then that sounds like the headphone port has had it. It's a cable inside that tears.
Is replaceable and cost about £3 off ebay.
Have replaced it on a few of the ones I've had
