Problems making telephone calls from car A6 le Mans 2008

Recently I have been having problems making calls from car. I can make a call from mobile phone (Galaxy S5) and it works thru Bluetooth in MMI but when I try to call from either mmi knob or steering wheel the mmi screen shows connecting then immediately disconnecting. Voice dialling says it's connecting then says attempts to dial failed. Deleted directory unpaired re-paired etc. Allow mmi access to my phone directory etc. Imported all phone entries to directory. They seem to store and I can make calls for a few minutes then mode button on steering wheel says no directory entries.
Not sure if it's an android update problem mmi problem or if phone isn't allowing mmi to control it. Worked on galaxy S3 for 10 months and S5 for two months until just recently. Any ideas gratefully received.

Do a MMI reboot hold in SETUP+Central MMI Knob + Inner Upper Right soft key, can you access your Phonebook via TEL then Memory, Phone Book?

Thanks for your help Chris. Took your advice and rest mmi, deleted the Audi Bluetooth from phone and started again as if my S5 was a new phone. Sadly it didn't help. Was still convinced that, because I could make calls thru the mmi from the handset the problem must be that the phone didn't allow the mmi to make calls.

Think it's now solved so here's the info for other Galaxy S5 owners. In the Galaxy's sub menus under settings-call settings I found call accessories. One item here was set to only allow outgoing calls when phone is unlocked. On the basis that when I'm dialling from the mmi the phone's in my pocket locked I changed this to allow outgoing calls when it's locked and this seems to have cured it. I can only assume that a recent Samsung or Android update changed that setting and caused the problem as I didn't.
