    1st one

2nd one - the colour change was excellent

3rd: Some heather. Single exposure, just grads and a fair bit of shadow recovery

    4. The sunrise was blocked by the clouds, some did break through afterwards, but it wasn't enough. With more golden light this would have been a killer

I shot these a while back, I wonder if the location has potential. I think it does.

Tricky one this, it was super clear and worse still, the strong green colours still remain from summer. I much prefer spring up here where there is snow on the hills and everything isn't so green....

Don't get me wrong, I like clear sunny days. All I need is just a bit of cloud cover (high level) to make it work

    _DSC3516 by SFTPhotography, on Flickr

Rather than shoot up towards the black mount, like I normally do, I thought I'd be different and shoot towards the south and try and get something a bit different.

    _DSC3524 by SFTPhotography, on Flickr

    _DSC3526 by SFTPhotography, on Flickr

Then you get the classic view of the black mount. Some cirrus high cloud would have made this a hanger for me

Does a 2:1 crop pano work better for yous

Couldn't do anything about my shadow either.

The exposure time and off white balance have made it more interesting than it was - it was a flat grey day, and there was no sunset or golden hour before sunset, just a drop in ambient light

    About 10mins later

    _DSC1011 by SFTPhotography, on Flickr

I did move around a bit and tried new angles, but none were as good as this one. You can begin to see light polution, the enemy take over.

    Although, I like light pollution...

The over exposure (well, exposure to the right) brings about an interesting effect. Not only can I keep my ISO lower as I am letting more light in, which cuts noise, but I am improving my signal to noise ratio by reducing or illimating pixels lower down in the chart. Ok, I've lost some highlights due to the interior light, but who cares. I've managed to bring some colour to the sky and the orange/green contrasts so well for me

It is no stranger I am partial to still water, clear reflections and wonderful mountains. To me, they instill calmness and tranquility and are the must shoot in any landscape. I know for a fact I'd have shot none of these had Loch Tulla NOT been still.

My mate was driving me home, and I saw this and begged him to stop. The light, reflections I knew made for a wonderful chance to capture the feel of the area and somewhere I hadn't shot before.

I've never shot this sort of thing before, but was keen to give it a try.

Any area's of improvement (I suspect I need a longer lens or get good at using longer lens) would be gratefully recieved.

Athens has to be one of the most magical and inspiring places I have had the pleasure of visiting. My time there was all to brief and this wonderful city has so much to see and do. Its also blessed with open space and hills within itself, allowing a unique view over the city. I love open space and the feeling of being on top of the world. I hope this captures this part of the city for you

It was a hazy day, but I had a crack at the golden hour, the light was very diffused sadly.

The blue hour series...I took a few different variations on a theme as its so far from home. I will be back, but not soon. I had planned crudly on google maps taking an evening blue hour in up here. I'd recommend it.

Hi! Really great shots! Can obviously tell you have a great eye for photography and love landscape and looking for reflections! What camera and filters have you got? I LOVE Eilean Donan Castle and need to go here sometime! My eyes were opened to the Highlands when we were booked to shoot a wedding up at Ardtornish in the western highlands at Lochaline and it's seriously amazing landscape that I never knew existed in the UK!

I wish I had more time to do more landscape work but I want to get more astrophography/starfield shots as space fascinates me!

Here's my fav starfield shot from Wimbleball Lake on Exmoor a few years ago.
    Milkyway-over-Wimbleball-Lake-Exmoor-Somerset-UK-Darksky-starfield.-dustlanes-low-res.jpg

Here's one from the eclipse not so long ago.
    Solar-Eclipse-20th-March-2015-09-300x200.jpg

And this is one of my favourite (non-wedding photography - as that's what I do mainly) shots to date.

Quite obvious where it is I think :-) All of these are available on canvas prints with orders from private buyers stretching as far as Australia for a 48" canvas for a customer for his new house he's building .
