    I'm Jim from Scotland
    I have a Mitsi Pajero 2.8TD LWB which I use to tow our caravan( MTPLM=1400kg. MIRO= 1190kg)

    I rarely drive it when not towing and I'm looking at an Audi A4 1.9 TDi around 2004/2005
    I'll be looking at a saloon, not an Avant

    Anyone know how good this would be as a towcar bearing in mind the 24ft of caravan getting hauled along?

    I've read of additional fans being required at great cost, etc and want to make sure I'm doing the right thing before I make the jump.
    I'll also need to get a towbar fitted but hoping my bruv in law can help there.

    I'm on my 2nd Pajero in 10 years so I need a bit of convincing but the extra mpg would be good as I only get around 14-16mpg while towing just now

    Have you tried a hotel? Definitely better than a caravan!
