    Hello.

I am having issues with acceleration in my golf. It is a 2.0TDI 140 MK5 GT Sport with DSG.

I have noticed 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear has lost its torque range, it is much higher than it should be and in town i need to high rev it to get any decent acceleration out of it. Then 6th gear hardly accelerates. I have noticed in 6th gear on the motorways when I put my foot down, the MPG's don't drop as much as they should, sits about 30-35.

I have heard this could be the fuel regulator, but also at the same point, I am scared this is the turbo.

When I use kick-down the revs build up and acceleration is fine, but no where near what it was like or should be.

    Any theories would be appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Greig

air mass meter, commonly known as a maf, but vag call them amm's. cts, coolant temp sender. probably the amm. you may not get a fault code though for it, so look in live data to see wht its doing. either visit a vag specialist or lookon the vcds map on a6chris' page, and find a local member that can help. avoid a cheap generic obd code reader.

Thanks again Zollaf. It was the AMM. The air flow sensor was changed out and the car is like new, or better than new. Can this wear out before it goes? it seems the car is much better than it ever was. This morning the car really struggled up a hill. I work offshore and noticed this time I came home it was terrible. And today.....well.... was very low on power.

A quick fix, and feels like new.

    Thanks again.
