My daughters 1.6 beetle 2005 has been running lumpy on and off, totally random for about a year.

I had been having a look and couldn't find any vacuum leaks and I've just been resetting the faults as she cannot afford the garage. It's got worse in that i can reset the faults and it's fine for an hour or so then they come back on and it's undrivable. I have found that the pipe from the top of the rocker (breather) has perished at the flexi bit and completely detached, could this be the sole problem?

Meanwhile I've got the new part and will fit it tomorrow and clean everything around it.

    Thanks
