As per the title I cannot get the passenger door open on the car. When opening the doors from the fob or the internal switch I hear the normal click from the passenger door followed by two quieter clicks.
I would assuming the locking mechanism is knackered but it's going to be hard to replace it if I can't open the door at all!

Anyone have any tips that might help get the door open?

    Hi,

I've only just had this happen on my dads 08 GT golf, I followed this guide here

    http://www.vwgolf.net.au/showthread....ked-stuck-FIX!

I found it was the main plug, but checked everything. Although he's not sure if its failed once (finger trouble).

I eventually got the door fixed thanks to Hepburn Motors in Crook of Devon. He was able to get the door card off from the inside without damaging it and release the door from there.
I replaced the lock mechanism with a third party part which lasted all of a few weeks. It would almost unlock the door so you had to give the door a thump near the handle to complete the unlocking process. A replacement part developed the same problem. I've since fitted a genuine VW mechanism.
