    Hi Guys,

I'm picking up a 3.0L TDI avant later and will be wanting to fit a tow bar to it, but after reading lots of thread i'm not sure if I'll need to do anything with the cooling fans or not? does anyone know the exact models that needed the upgraded fans?

Also I'm looking at the wiring side of things, I would like to fit a 13 pin socket, with the charging line etc..
Have looked at the dedicated vehicle kits but they're very expensive!
I realise it tells the ESP that i'm towing, and also turns off the reversing sensors but I could fit a switch to the reversing sensors buzzer considerably cheaper than the dedicated wiring kit.
Are they really worth the £100 or so extra over the bypass relay?

Finally if anyone knows of a guide to installing the charging circuit and could let me know that would save some time in trying to work it out.

    Thanks

Which car? Dedicated kits are worth the extra imo, I've just fitted one to my a3 myself and it works just like factory incorporating safety systems.

Its a B7 A4 Avant, I've found out the parking sensors aren't factory fit ones but dealer fit, so they're not the pukka Audi ones, so think I've decided not to bother with the dedicated kit, won't really get the full benefit from it.

Now to work out where to pick the power feeds up from for the 12S part of the 13 pin socket.
