    Hi wondering if anyone can help.


    My car give black smoke on load.

    My engine light has come on and vag says the following.

    17057 - cylinder3glow plug circuiit (q12) electrcal fault.
    16485 - mass air flow sensor (g70): implausible signal.

    audi 2.0tdi.

    Any ideas?

    at a guess i would say you need a new glow plug and a new maf sensor .
    Audi 80 tdi avant with 360,000 miles...

    Will lookino changing them. I took the big pipe off bottle. Of egr and found it was black oil inside. Is that normal?

    Been told its had a mass air sensor allready.. Do you think it could be the egr?

    You have a fault for the MAF, change this for a genuine part from Audi and go from there.

    If it was the EGR, you'd have a fault code relating to the EGR.

    would that cause the mass air flow sensor to come on and give clouds of black smoke under load? i tried unplugging mass sensor but still the same.

    Replace the MAF, the ECU is telling you it has an implausible signal, change it

    A faulty AMM could cause under or over fuelling and it will also make the EGR system malfunction. The trouble is you have now made me think "is it the AMM" because you have being doing that silly trick of running it unplugged without checking the codes directly before and then clearing them immediately after so it could be YOU generating the fault code although that code would normally be an open circuit one, not implausible signal. Where did this new AMM come from?
