    So I've had this annoying what could only be described as a misfire for a while now.
    I get no DTC errors on vcds so had no basis to work from.
    So started to throw some money at it by changing the maf and map sensors.
    Made no difference. Decided to change the fuel filter even though its less than 12 months old.
    The symptom then went away.
    Drained the old fuel filter and the fuel was black.
    Am I right in thinking the tandem fuel pump at the back of the cylinder head is at fault here?
    Audi A4 saloon, 2.0L tdi s-line. Retrofitted cruise control, DIS and MFSW. VCDS user.

    Audi 80 tdi avant with 360,000 miles...

    All done. It's actually quite an easy job to do.
    It seems to have given the car more power too.
    And its stopped smoking.
    Audi A4 saloon, 2.0L tdi s-line. Retrofitted cruise control, DIS and MFSW. VCDS user.
