    Hi all

Been on here for years but never posted before, so a newbie really>

I have just bought wifey a Golf GT TDI 2007 57. It has the Factory fit Ipod dock, but this doesn't work. I have had the radio out and can see that it is connected etc. The previous owner had a different radio in the car and the one in it now is definately NOT the original, but is a RCD300. So i am wondering if the radio needs VCDS coding or similar to tell it to look for the Ipod dock??

Any ideas i would be really grateful. I am based in Essex near to the DARTFORD tunnel, so the next question may be - anyone nearby with vcds!

    Thanks in advance

    John

If you press CD twice what happens?

The radio might need coded for the CdChanger/iPod dock.

Check the user map in my signature for VCDS users near you.

The "No CDC" message suggests the radio is coded correctly to look for the CD changer but is not getting the correct responses. Sounds like the iPod interface is the problem. Not sure how you could check other than to replace with a known working interface.

Thanks I agree, without a scan I will not know, so I've bought a connect2 kit on eBay for less than the price if a scan and will see if that works.
