real head scratcher

hi all , first post so give it me straight , my 2006 1.9 tdi saloon vibrates on acceleration in higher gears round about 2000/2500 revs after a succession of garages and after spending £1400 its worse if not better , first garage , oh yea seen it lots of times change your lift pump guaranteed fixed (£340) later no difference ! next diesel specialist ,diagnosis ,new loom thats whats needed £200 ..nope ok 1 injector £370 plus fitting nope !! next garage err engine mounts knackered replace it all will be fine new engine gearbox mount rear mount stabiliser bar/mount £££££ & still vibrateing in all gears ,yet if i boot it through the gears sweet as a nut ,now im told to remove the EGR plate ? any idea gang before i top myself lol open to all suggestions except setting it on fire

Have you had it scanned for faults?

When was the fuel filer last changed?

yes cheers chris its been on 2 diagnostic machines plus full service & filter changes im completely baffled im told next step is to remove the egr blanking plate ? its never ending paying out lol

so when you say vibrates, what do you mean, a vibration through the whole car, like a misfire ??

it seems to me as the engine is shakeing you can see the windscreen wipers vibrating it was only accererating up hills in 4th gear now its in all gears under any amount of engine power but after 3000 revs its smooth

Is it the clutch or pressure plate??

so you reckon the higher the engine is revving the better ? That rules the turbo out to me...

This sounds like the dual mass flywheel, when they go they cause vibration through all the gears.

very interesting sar02 i will look into that thanks i noticed today it was bad in all gears but on freewheeling i revved it like mad & the engine was smooth ,put it into gear and same old story ..the plot thickens lol

Yep, put in gear & vibrates.
