I have just got a 2011 Passat estate se model with front fog lights below the bumper, but how can you turn them on? The light switch has a position for rear fogs but not front ones.
i have checked the manual and it seems they might come on when going round corners with the indicators on? But can they ever come on as fog lights?

    thanks all

You'll probably find that they're your Daytime Running Lights.

Is there any way of using them as fog lights?

I think fogs are a different setup to DRL and you'd need the correct retrofit package including fog housings, coding, wiring and a light switch.

If you have fog lights fitted then I have found that if the switch is set to the headlight position the first pull out switches on the front fogs and the second pull out switches the rear fog.

I'd like the DRL's to stay on with side light setting, anybody know if this is feasible ?

drl only used as daytime alternative lights that can be switched on or off in computer settings on steering wheel.. If you have TWO icons for foglights on your lightswitch that will denote front AND rear fog lights. I also have one icon (rear fog) thats it im afraid unless you upgrade with new switch .. loom and lamp (£200) approx.
