They are nice cars if only they had more charging stations. I noticed all the test drives were booked in Glasgow. Tesla has really taken off in Norway-apparently almost 10% of all new cars last year.

    Gone-S3 sportback, A6 C7 biturbo saloon,A4 B 8.5 avant, A6 C6 3.0 tdi Quattro saloon, A6 C5 2.8 Q Avant

Yeah had mine booked for a few while. I only do circa 6k per annum so not a big concern. Although that torque may find me doing silent midnight runs.....

    My Ultra 4000 mile report.

Have done a few long trips now and it seems like the perfect car for our needs. Love the s-tronic box and the useable power. Comfort, sound system etc are superb. People love the car.

Economy is only late 40's if i drive in 50 zones etc though. Overall long term average (from start of life) upto 42 mpg though. Still not as good as it should be? What are other peeps getting?

I Recently drove my brothers friends Audi R8 V8 manual which was nice and I realised that the only thing i am missing is to drive an iconic petrol engined car for a blast every now and again.
(I think Chiefbadger touched on it a while back that although the A6 Ultra Avant is a very nice, practical, good looking and capable car, it is still a big car and can be a barge at times.
My brothers Porsche Cayman will do for an occasional swap i guess..

I have enclosed a couple of photos from a recent Ceramic treatment that has been applied IMG-20140929-WA0013.jpgIMG-20140929-WA0002.jpgIMG-20140929-WA0010.jpg

Looking good in the pics, very nice.

That overal 42 mpg doesn't sound great initially. My BiTdi has averaged 38 over the first 5,000 miles. About 50% motorway miles and 50% country road fun driving (cue the haters).

I guess it's hard to have an opinion on whether 42 is good or not without knowing what sort of driving you're doing. If more town and countryside, and less motorway, it might not actually be too bad.

My average is around 46, mix of quiet country roads, French motorways and lotsa town work.

I've done 5500 miles now, mix of town and country roads and I've averaged 41mpg. It's held pretty stable and doesn't seem to be improving.

It's a company car, so I'm not worried about economy particularly, but I must say if I had bought the ultra looking for an efficient runner I'd be disappointed.

My Stronic is at 43.5 after 4500 miles. My previous 177 Manual hadn't managed to crack 40 at this stage so there is some improvement. Economy may only be marginally better, but in terms of performance and refinement the Ultra is in a different league. I no longer need to keep drive select in dynamic all the time to get anywhere

Didn't think on a manual A6 that Drive Select had any impact on the engine when in Dynamic.

I think it would still alter the throttle response such that rather than going progressively from 0-100% it'd be 0-75% by halfway, and then 75-100% for the last half of the peddle (just estimated figures)
