Posted this on the other forum but had no takers so thought I would try here instead.

    Hi all
Bit of help please if poss.
I am an old fashioned mechanic form waay back in the 80's and all this diagnostic stuff is a bit rocket sciency to me!!
I have a 1998 VW Sharan 1.9 tdi. The inj pump went down so I got another used one. When I fitted it she ran great but the tick over is rough and I suspect that she is getting too much fuel.
I have been told the only way to change the fuel delivery quantity is via a computer/software.
Can anyone tell me what I need exactly in order to fine tune her.
    Thanks in advance
    Nigel
