I have just been having issues which I have never experienced before...

For about the last hour I have had constant resync of my connection, some it is just the connection from my router to the exchange, and others it is that plus the internet side...

Each time it resyncs at the exact same speed... but on one event my fixed Zen IP starting 88.97 changed to a 172. IP address... I then received the BT Wholesale page....

I have turned off the router... still the same...

Looking on the web I tried the "ipconfig /flushdns" from the command line... this "seems" to have rectified the issue... I have been connected now for around 40 mins with no issue rather that 2-3 mins...

Any idea what has caused this issue? Is there a network issue even though I cant see one...

Has this happened again or is it fixed now?
Probably in a pit underneath a steam loco somewhere.

Seem to be back to normal now.... crap but not as bad as that day.... Lol Problem is I live a long way from the exchange so I get crap service anyway as you can see, lucky to get 2MB on ADSL but OK for my use..... but it seems to be a little more stable...

I do have a very strange issue which no one seems to be able to help with....

During the week, Monday to Friday my connection is fairly good, maybe resync a couple of times, or may go the whole week... BUT on Saturday between 11am-2pm I can guarantee it will resync... When I say resyn, my router shows two connections, one from the router to the exchange, the other the exchange to the internet... BOTH these reset to zero.... It does the same on a Sunday as well.... Then once it has done this on a Sunday it will be OK for a few days... if it does resyn 99% of the time it will just be my connection to the exchange.. NOT to the internet.. i.e top figure will reset to zero, bottom will carry on....

It has done this for the last few weeks...

    Any suggestions?

I am waiting for a local Company to bring wireless broadband to the village.... cheap and fast

    Residential Packages | iLoveBroadband.co.uk

£25.00 a month upto 30MB down, and 10MB up.... mmmmm

It's normal for the "line lease" to renew regularly but most ADSL routers only show the info under a single heading (if at all) So you normally only see:

    Internet - connected
uptime - some days and some hours and some minutes.

My old home hub 2 preffered to count down rather than up. Nobody at BT knew why. It would count down to zero then reset itself to 10 days or so then count down all over again.

Should have said the speed variations are due to traffic shaping used by your ISP.
Probably in a pit underneath a steam loco somewhere.

For info ipconfig /flushdns is only relevent for your local LAN, not the internet. Your router will cache DNS requests made from you LAN to your router configureed DNS server (usually an ISP's DNS server).

The best way to flush router DNS which may be required if you see your router has changed IP is to power cycle the router. Consumer routers rarely have the ability to manually do that.

    Hope this helps.
