    Hi all,

I have mentioned in the past that my A6 has injectors made of cheese. Things are coming to a head and the idle smoke is bad, I am therefore in the midst of changing.

I thought I would share my experience to date in the hope that others can enlighten me and I can learn from the whole event.

In short for me to date the whole thing has been a bit of a minefield. I never realised how many parts numbers and superseeded numbers exisited in the VAG world of injectors. More alarmingly there are many vendors out there who intermingle these part numbers and claim compability.

My first attempt at buying was 2 weeks ago, my 6 injectors arrived from eBay.de branded 059130277BE despite the advert claiming they were BD (the recommended part). The seller assured me they would work despite being for the euro 5 2008+. Two Audi techs advised to return claiming they would over fuel (massive thanks to A8tech).i got a refund through eBay thankfully.

I enquired with another supplier today about 6x BD's which came in at £1450. He then proceeded to offer me 6 x 057130277AK which are apparently compatable with BMK for £1050!!

Obviously I'm going to go with BD's because I happen to like my 3.0tdi functioning as it should. That said it highlighted to me how much (perhaps) mis information is out there about these injectors. Or maybe is there some cross over wih injectors that make compatability across part numbers possible? Is it all a big scam?

Discuss... (any thoughts would be greatly appreciated) I need to get it sorted if I sit in traffic I'm that car that people shake their head at when I pull away

    Cheers

    Ross

Your BD originals were rated for a 1600 BAR system, and the BE replacements for 1800 BAR systems.
Many people on German and Polish forums have fitted them and said they run fine.
I am considering the AK which are 1600 BAR and much cheaper (like half price) than BD.
The variations in price for different designations in mind-blowing.
How did you get on with the new injectors in the end?

    Hi,

I havent done anything as yet tbh. Been so busy with work the Audi has been parked up quite a lot. As i said it still drives fine just smokey if left idling for any length of time. That said i am worried about the effect of excess diesel in the engine so have been trying to avoid using it until i get things sorted.

I was offered AK's for £1000 as opposed to £1450 for BD's, with assurances they would work. However once bitten twice shy after the BE encounter and also not having the means to programme them myself i struggle to find anyone who will fit them (as the are not the VAG recommended part No).

I was reliably informed BE's would not work, so on the same assumption id kind of not investigated the AK's any further. Honestly the last thing i want is to be staring down the barrel of a broken engine. Stuck between a rock and hard place really.

Let me know how you get on if you take the plunge.

    Cheers

    Ross

    Hi Fieldy

Was gonna post info here got way layed... I had come to the conclusion that you had been given ie BE for later engines... I think it is due to the newer 2.7 / 3.0 TDi having DPF's, updated ECU's, etc
    Link:- A6/C6 injector PROBLEM - Replacement/refirbished injectors possible? - Page 3

That we must use the rev range

    059 130 277 S 1600 BAR
    059 130 277 Q 1600 BAR DROPPED 01/06/2005
    059 130 277 AA 1600 BAR DROPPED 01/06/2006
    059 130 277 AB 1600 BAR DROPPED 01/09/2006
    059 130 277 AH 1600 BAR DROPPED 01/04/2009
    059 130 277 AJ
    059 130 277 AK 1600 BAR
    059 130 277 BA 1600 BAR
    059 130 277 BB
059 130 277 BD 1600 BAR Current part since 09 (BMK BNG ASB)

Now after meddling enough with EPC I can read and use it better... I think there are also 2.7 specific injectors... will check tomorrow... or Snapdragon may supply the info

    *** Update ***

It also seems that if you were to buy aftermarket genuine Bosch injectors the Bosch part number differs depending upon who they supply... Link:- A6/C6 injector PROBLEM - Replacement/refurbished injectors possible? - Page 5

Did you ever get this injector mystery sorted. I ordered some from Alexander Quattro (sandor)and they have arrived with different codes. My car is a 2005 A8 3.0 TDI and the injectors are listed for the A8 4.2 tdi or the 2008 A4 3.0 tdi. The seller insists that the new injectors are Euro 4 - my car being Euro 3 and insists they will be comaptable

To clarify the latest recommended injectors for my 2005 A8 3.0 tdi are 0591302277BD (Bosch 0445115079) I received part no 057139277 (4 are suffixed AK and 2 AG) As I understand it the ones supplied are for Euro 4 emissions (they are listed as A8 4.2 and A4/5 3.0 tdi 2008 on) They are from a German company, who state that they are an upgrade for the Euro 4 emissions an 8 hole nozzle as opposed to an older 7 hole nozzle - with me so far ?- My Audi technician has a concern that the ECU will not recognise the coding . Has anyone any thoughts.

Youre having the same dilemma i had. I bought from ebay.de and received injectors rated at 1800bar for 2008+ but on assurance from seller they would work.

2 mechanics said dont fit/specialist refused to fit, so i bottled it and sent them back and lost about £150 in postage and exchange rates.

Subsequently, Snapdragon (i think) took the plunge with rev BE's (1800 bar) on his and they worked fine i think, perhaps he'l be along to confirm.

I got 6 x BD's from Yorkshire in the end as did Gupsterg. Worked out the same as the German price but was the correct injector.

However before you take the plunge speak to someone like this because i think they can be re-conditioned rather than spend a fortune on new:

    Wainwright Bros

I wished i had done this prior to buying new (just assumed they couldnt be). Keep meaning to email them and find out of infact they can be reconditioned out of interest.

Search Gupsterg posts on injectors, loads and loads of info/my moaning in there about 'Injectorgate'.

    Hope that helps.
