    2.5tdi intercooler replacment help

    Hi,

I am replacing my 2 intercoolers tomorrow after I found a large split in one of them. Any one have any helpfull hints or tips before starting this. I have only ever gone as far as replacing the MAP sensor on the split inter cooler (that's how I found the split ) so any tips would be great.

    Thanks

    Andrew

    Re: 2.5tdi intercooler replacment help

Ok, so replaced both intercoolers today, black smoke gone and more power above 2000rpm but still drops off about 2500rpm and i have to change down a gear if going uphill?? So i have changed the egr valve and the MAP sensor, now the inter coolers. Any one have any other ideas.

    Thanks

Get the codes read, as just changing things is an expensive hobby! the bust intercooler is fair enough but what led you to change the MAP sensor and EGR?

    Re: 2.5tdi intercooler replacment help

Hi Dan - had code p0401 egr insufficient flow and code p0234 over boost. That's why I done the egr and map sensor. At the weekend I fitted a blanking plate on the egr to see if that would help and it did. Its like a new car, pulsl really well but still get a slight pause when at 2800-3000 rpm then continues ok. I still get the code p0234 come up but only when i go above 3000rpm. Car is much better but still not 100%.
