    Hi all, newbie here,

emissions light came on a few days ago, the next day the car was really slow, felt like it had no turbo. the problem isn't rectified by turning the ignition off then on again. tried unplugging the MAF sensor but that didn't improve anything so i re connected it and took it to an independent vag specialist to have it scanned today. fault codes came back as:
CODE 16485 P0101 AIR MASS METER
    CODE 19587 P3131 EGR VALVE
garage says it'll be £450 to replace both parts, however I'm skeptical as to whether both parts have broken at the same time. could i have caused the air mass meter fault code by disconnecting it? (im assuming air mass meter means MAF), somone on the c4 forum said that this could have caused a fault code and i assume its the same for c5

    cheers

    alex

my suggestion is that your Turbo needs replacing
    Probably sticking vanes

You dont say however how many miles your car has covered Is it high mileage, do you get any boost at all, has it happened suddenly I think the forum will need some more information
I had a similar problem for 2 years with lack of power even when I changed MAF N75 etc but eventually had a rebuilt turbo fitted and it cured everything

Good luck I know just how frustrating this problem can be

turned out to be just the maf, my mate had a scanner so i used it to reset the codes, maf code appeared again. fitted new maf and that sorted it. i think i cause the egr fault code when i was watching it cycle on ignition off, did it without the engine running a few times so after a while there was no vacuum to operate it so it hardly moved.

oh and car has 134k miles. felt like it had no boost until 2.5k then a tiny bit of boost. just happened when i turned the car on a week ago and stayed like it
