(2.5tdi VP44 pump sorted) Just an update on a problem that could have been very expensive! First, thanks for all the input I got on the site regarding my problem, and the prize goes to ametlib for putting me on the right path. My problem was non starting after car being left overnight. https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?139832-VP44-Pump as ametlib stated it was this T50 torx o-ring that gave me all of my problems. So if you are having the same symptoms as I had and on the brink of pulling the pump off and spending £700.00+ then try here first. The bolt is on the right hand side, looking from the front just behind the pulley you will have to take the alloy intercooler pipe off to gain access, just be careful not to drop anything down the cut out of the cam belt cover. I just can’t believe that a 10p o-ring has sorted out my problems and I hope that this insight will help others, thanks all again.

    Glad you fixed it!
Just wonder, did the sound of the engine change? Reason I,m asking is related to an issue with my A6 (engine barking when hot)

Hi, sympthom of my a6 is that it starts to run rough, nasty dieselknocking, at exactly 78.1 degrees! Have a thread ( resting for now due to the fu#!ing cold weather in Norway) about this issue at the A6 forum. Thank's.
