    Fault code

    05522.....altitude/boost*pressure*sensor*implausable*correlation*and* intermittent*

Light came on again 4 days ago but only the 1 time. Took it to the garage today and the mechanic said it's nothing to worry about, he test drove it and said everything appears fine.

    What'd reckon guys?

    Re: Fault code

Light back on again this morning and nothing since. Is it normal for this fault to only give one warning then nothing further or is this a sign that tells me not to worry for the time being and if it gets worse it'll tell me? CONFUSED!

    Re: Fault code

Crasher- any idea of the cost of a new sensor? Lights coming on more frequent now and I'm guessing the most expensive scenario would be to replace the sensor, cheers.

The sensor is about 45 and on the boost pipe in the engine bay just before the pipe turns into the flap motor, a bit awkward to get at.

    Re: Fault code

Pulling my freeking hair out with local garages! Asked the latest one to replace the boost sensor for me and he said it's probably a leak in the turbo system! And they're supposed to be vw experts.
Ended up ringing VW Preston up and they've told me it's a common fault and either the wireing loom needs replaceing or a new sensor fitted, more than likely the wiring loom though and will be cost of part + 2 hrs labour (60 per hr)

    hopefully get sorted now :-(
