    Sorry guys for bad news,

Last week I had phone call from my mechanic (trained Audi technician) to bring my car urgently in so he can check for oil pump / balance shaft failure.
I was aware about this problem, and I knew A4 and older engines were effected, as my engine is BRE I was calm. He told me that in past week he had 2 C6 with same issue and both are still in workshop. So I went to see him, and to my shock both C6 were BRE engines and under 80k. Owners of both cars were facing £2500+ repair bill.
After checking my chassis number, to my luck my car was build after September 2006, and even being BRE engine, parts were upgraded. He told me that my car is 7th chassis and it should be OK.
I would strongly advice to get it checked.

Do not rely on vin year as that is the car not the engine and 2007 is affected by the failures
Sump off and inspect it's the only way or to check oil pressure address 17 mvb 3 oilpok notok but as the hex key wear can go undetected by this its best to remove and inspect
