Well I've just joined the forum so I can see these pics lol as my jetta 2.0 tdi 140 gave me a code for glow plug number 1. My question is this.....number one I'm guessing is the one on my left if I'm facing the engine?? I'm no mechanic either lol but this thread has made it look Farley easy

No 1 should be the first on the left as you look into the engine bay. Assemble the tools as described you will be stuck without them.good luck and be patient and careful taking the rocker off or you may be forced to replace the gasket

    christ hope they don't.
make sure you have a good fitting socket, and go slowly. They might come undune with a jolt, so make sure your wrench won't hit anything ,like mine did on my citroen and took a water fitting out!!

Going to attempt this on our 2.0 tdi Touran at the weekend. It's never started well from cold or hot and dash display is also temporamental. I've recently read that the dash display isn't fused and connected to the glow plugs. If the dash is fully lit, the car starts. If the dash is half lit the car struggles to start, which tells me it's the glow plugs?
