None of the lights inside the car is working

Tracing the wire back past the star point, we found that one connector block in the array that is clipped to the passenger footwell was corroded. 12V on one side of the connector, hardly anything on the other.

As always its the passenger footwell, this is where the Passat waterfall occurs!
Dont mess with connectors, just cut back and solder, simples!

Sorry for the delay in responding - blimey, it's been a couple of years! I'm just revisiting these threads while looking for some parts for my Passat.
To complete the story: I bought replacement connector pins from a VW dealer (come with a length of yellow wire attached), and did as suggested above, cutting back the affected cables and soldering on the new connectors.
All works OK now, although I also had to bypass a dodgy connection in the connector block that sits halfway up the passenger side wheel well (where the waterfall went down). I still haven't put the module back under the carpet though, as the water leak hasn't been fixed yet. My partner has got used to having the plastic box around her feet!
