    Golf MK5 1.9tdi 55 plate

    Came up "Emissions Workshop" Vcds Code 16565 Fuel Temp Sensor. VW part no.?

    Where is it located & can it be cleaned or best replaced?

    it is located on the fuel line between the filter and tandum pump, at the end of the cylinder head, they cant be cleaned tbh best thing is to replace it

    Thanks for that.

    Remove and checked Resistance as follows:-

    Room Temp...........4.9 k ohms

    Cold water............6.5 k "

    Warmed by hand...3.5 k "

    Are the above meter readings OK??

    I had fitted a "Tuning Chip" that plugs into the FTS.

    I have seen elsewhere that this Chip can give spurious errors, so looks like this could be the problem.

    what are the symptoms of a failing fuel temp sensor..... Got rough hunting idle when cold but drives perfect though ....when engine up to temp idle is ok
