    Hello you fine audi owners,

Desperate for some help here if any of you kind souls would care to send some my way.
Bascially i am looking to remove the Central Colnsole, "the bit sat behind the gear stick with the mmi control buttons on" but have since had no look in finiding a detailed discription with pictures on how to do so,

Mine is a basic audi a6 on an 05 plate, a detailed description with pictures on how to remove it would be fantastic if anyone how the info or know how on it,

    Thanks very much

    Hi there,

    Found this:

    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...-Buttons-HELP!

No pics though, looks like you need a Bentley manual for that.

    Good luck.

How about this one for a starter:
    http://www.audienthusiasts.com/Project_MMILED.html

It's an A4, but is very similar and may get you started.

I'm sure there's a post from Cockney Boy on how he changed his LEDs in his A6. Can't find it now.

Hi this is pretty messy but here goes, You will have to remove vents at rear of centre console for rear passengers by using some kind of hook item, behind there is bolt, once removed will allow armrest out. If you have cup holder under armrest you will have to remove mat and then bolt below it, then below mat in storage area there are four bolts. Then release centre console (rear left and right) by pulling retaining hooks(sit facing rear lighter and pull towards you). Then remove side trim from console you may have to remove glove box and trim under steering wheel to get at screws if not seeable, once screws removed will unclip by pulling towards you.

Next you must remove air con controls, you will probably have to remove centre air vents in dashboard as air con controls are clipped into them. If you have auto box you will need to start car pop into "S" then switch ignition off to give you room.

Remove trim above ashtray (below air con controls) think it is pull towards you. Open front ashtray, remove tray, below that are two bolts, lever ashtray out from front. Remove cover around gear-lever by pulling upwards. On auto box you need to remove selector scale by popping upwards.

Then remove bolts, lift centre console slightly at rear edge and then pull centre console off dash panel towards the rear, unplug electrical connectors. If connector at electronic parking brake button is unplugged, a fault is entered in the electronic parking brake control unit. Then remove bolts from MMI console, carefully release retaining clips and on trim frame using a narrow-bladed screwdriver.

Again not done this just giving you advise from guide....
