    Hey guys,
Just been reading on passats forums, that quite a lot of owners having injector failure on they VW Passat 2.0 TDI B6 140 PD engines (engine code BKP)
I have Audi A6 2.0 TDI 140 PD, just checked engine code and its BRE.

Does any one knows, if Audi 2.0 tdi engines are different to VW Passat 2.0 TDI PD engines?

They are probbaly not that different. Looking at the diagrams, besides ECU changes, the only real differences are around the emissions systems and placement of components.

By that, I mean they are notionally the same, not that the parts are all interchangeable

Why are you worrying? Is there anything going on with your car that leads you to think this it is going the same way?

    Cheers for replay,
no i am not worried, everything good so far, i got 2 years warranty with car when i bought it.

Just reading post on ukpassats, everybody seems to be not very happy with this BKP engines, and a lot of owners had at least 1 injector replaced, which cost arround £800 if not under warranty.

Also quite a lot reports about poor econmy on B6 Passats. To be honest i was accepting worse, knowing that A6 heavier car and got same engine, but really impressed wit economy, honestly i forgot when last time i filled her up. I am getting 38-42 mpg in town.

I heard from a reliable source that Passat and A6 use different brands of injection, A6 is Bosch and I can't remember the Passat one.

I came here to ask this exact question. Thanks for the info, might be worth spending the extra to get an A6 over a Passat
