    Hi Guys,

I have a 2004 54 Audi A4 1.8T Multi-tronic Cabriolet and the PRNDS on the dash has just recently started to flash.

I first noticed this after I accidently drove over a rather large pothole. When the PRNDS is flashing the car appears to be stuck in gear and is a little jumpy when driving off from a static position, otherwise it drives normally.

This also only appears to happen when the car is warm i.e after it has been constantly driven for 30 mins or so, if I am doing a shorter journey the car does not display any symptons and drives as good as new.

A further side issue is that the car is drinking more coolant than normal when it is experiencing the flashing problems.

I have had the car checked by an independant garage and the VAG report is as follows: -

CODE001: 17137 P0753 Shift Solenoid A-N88: electrical - Output dose not have a contact short to earth

CODE002: 17134 P0750 Shift Solenoid A-N88: malfunction - Value of resistance too great.

Can anybody please tell me what this means?

The garage has suggested that a software update (£60+VAT) may solve the problem, does anybody agree with this conclusion?

    Thanks

    Gordon

    Christopher,

Thanks for your advice however I have already carriedout a search but most of other posts appear to be relating to different problems from mine. I have included the VAG codes in hope that somebody could advise me?

    Phil,

Thanks, I'll double check but I'm pretty certain it's dry.

    Any other ideas?
