VW Bora 03 registration. Central locking system problem. Drivers side rear door closed, locked and won't open. All other doors operate OK and as normal. Any suggestions on a fix please?

if you're a little bit handy with the tools, read here for more info and pics... it took me about an hour to get the door open.

If disconnecting the Battery on a VW Golf 2003 will it not interfere with the Computer I am scared it may lose some of the Vital Info and cause other problems
    Thank You

I had this with my 02 bora. Water gets into the door and kills the locking mechanism. I got mine fixed at a Lookers garage for under £300 as they have to break into the door to fix it. I think its an MOT fail now too.

VW Bora 99 registration. Rear drivers side door won't lock and is currently open. I have tried locking and unlocking to release lock but not working. Seems like a recurring problem for Bora's. Can anyone suggest a way I can get the door to lock until o can fix or get to garage. Thanks
