Does anyone know how to program the central locking so that it locks when you drive off? VW want £25 to do this which is a rip off for playing with the keys

If you have a MFD Plus (upgraded central display in instrument cluster) you can do this and other settings by accessing the onboard menu.

The MFD Plus is one big display, not symbols on the top half and dot matrix readout on the bottom half.

To access on MFD Plus (per my car manual):
    - turn on ignition
    - press the underneath button on wiper control (normally used to switch between the 2 trip counters)
    - press and hold the down rocker on wiper control for 1 sec

Instructions are in the car's manual (for my 2008 Jetta anyway)

The only other option is pay VW or ask someone with VAGCOM.
