Has anyone had any luck getting their HTC Desire to work with the built-in A3 Bluetooth (I've got a 2010 model). I can get it to pair but then it randomly disconnects within a few minutes. I've asked my dealer and apparently as it's not on the Audi approved list of phones (which I've now found and seems pretty out of date) there's no warranty comeback. Their only suggestions were to use a different phone or pay for a 2nd SIM card!!

So anyone (a) got it to work or (b) have a general idea on how long it takes Audi to add support for new phones. This one's been out a couple of months and is selling well (on the PC Pro 'A list' just now!) so it's a bit bugging to find it not supported.

    Cheers

My Desire has not been "Bullet Proof" with my BMW Bluetooth.

Random disconnects have been known to occur.

I realise this doesnt help, but might point the finger at the phone rather than the car.

You have to remember that Mobile Phone life cycles are 6 months and Cars are 7+ years - Cars are not designed around mobiles. Not ideal but it can take up to 6 months after the phone has come out before there is a fix and sometimes there will not be
    Current - Audi A3 Sportback 1.8T Sline
Gone - Audi S3 Sportback Black Edition, Audi S4 Saloon,
Why not join the Audi A3 Owners Club

I know, I appreciate that, but this is why they have the ability to provide software updates - my understanding is that Parrot were quick off the mark to do this and I expect (perhaps unreasonably but given how much cash I've just given them I don't think so!) Audi to be able to sort something too!

Thanks - it's still useful to try and work out how much if phone problems and how much is car - looks like it might be a combination.
