Normally when I start my Sharan Automatic, I keep my foot on the brake to allow me to depress the button on the side of the gear shift, to move from park to drive.
Recently It's been impossible to push the button in, to change gear. It only works if I take my foot off the brake, and then kick down sharply onto the brake pedal.
Anybody else had this problem, and can anyone suggest a cause?

    Many thanks

    Lugolady

Get someone to check your brake lights at the same time. This can be a sign of a faulty brake pedal switch.
