Interesting. Don't the DVLA do anything regards a clocked car? Thought with MOT testing stations completing details which are now held electronically on a central database then this kind of criminal activity could be stopped?

Yup, correct, i guess a few years ago it was hard to actually check a cars mileage once it had been out of the network for so long...

My car was the perfect example to be clocked i guess as it had not been in the dealer network since 3 years old (my mate worked for Audi and did all my servicing from his unit.) and therefore the car service book was blank from around 60k miles and then all the paper work from over the years attached in the binder.

Right... so.. the car had a private plate on it hence not been able to see the history....

So.. I can now confirm when I sold the car with 142k miles on it, it got clocked back to 60k miles !!!! The car body work was in perfect condition though and could of passed as a low mileage example..

how did you find it if you dont mind me asking or did it go back to its original reg?

it went back to its original reg when it was scrapped by the looks of it, so all the history now appears on the DVLA Mot check site.
