    Hi guys,

Noticed a problem with my golf mk4 tdi pd....Been driving to London twice in the last month and every time ,Towards the end of the journey when egline is hot and only at slow speeds lack of power...or when going uphill,1st gear, second 3rd and I have to rev the **** out of it but lacks power still...I normally change gears around 2000 rpm.Strangely at high speeds on the motorway it s very responsive.I hear the turbo every time plus I ve changed the Maf today wich I bought from a vw dealer in kent but still no change.Another thing I had for the first time to day is a workshop emissions message on the dashboard(disconnected the batery for 1 hour but it was still there) wich finally dissaperd after a few hours.
The sansation is the same as if I would have one of the spark plug disconnected on a petrol engine. Can it be a glow plug?

    Thank for your replies,
    Alin

Could be an injector wiring problem. See here for a recent thread: https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/s...d.php?p=518486

Is the temparature gauge stable - does it alter alot whilst driving? Suggest you get a fault code read somewhere as this will help a great deal in pinpointing the issue.

Thank you for your replies guys,in order to avoid dealing vith dealers that don t care or don t have a clue I ve oredered a genuine vcds from ilexa and will get it tommorow...I am not a mechanic but I ll use it to check it and if there will be something Ill be able to do without complications I ll do it myself...but at least i get to know where the real problem is.

Re Temperature...no problems there I thing it stays always at 90 constantly.

Had a chat with a guy from to day and he told me straight away that it might be the injector wiring..but we ll see what vcds says.

    Regards

That is a very good decision, Ilexa are great people and with genuine VCDS a lot of people on this forum and the Ilexa forum can help you in at the very least diagnosing many electronic issues that will help you be more aware when you employ the services of a mechanic.

Clear the codes and run it around again for a few days and then read the codes again. The 17552 is probably someone disconnecting the Air Mass Meter (MAF) with the engine running. The air bag code will just be due to a flat battery sometime in the past since the codes were last cleared.
