Just made use of the 15% off at B&Q today and loaded up the car, having first taken out the luggage comparment cover and the black load guard. Now I can't them to fit back in. Handbook and diagrams no use. I get the black load guard to fit onto the back of the rear seats, but what should happen next? The luggage compartment cover slots in, but the rear seats won't click in as they should. What am I doing wrong??

    I guess it's upside down?

    Try it the other way.

Hi - I know this is an old thread but am having the exact same issue with my (new to me) 2014 A4 Allroad.

I don't think it is able to be fitted upside down as the sliding mount on the back of the seats will only engage one way.

Just like the original poster I get the guard fitted back onto the back of the rear seats but when flipping them back into position they won't fit properly, the load guard (as Audi calls it in the handbook) seems to hit another mounting hardware in the cargo area and it stops the seats from clicking into place.

The luggage area privacy blind fits fine, just the load guard that is an issue.

    Can anyone assist?

Solved - I decided to have another look and it seems the answer is straightforward (although not at all obvious from the owners handbook).

The load guard CAN NOT be fitted to the seat backs when the seats are back in position. The guard does fit on the seat back when using it with the seats down and the cargo area extended, but when then needs to be removed before putting the seat backs back into the normal sitting position.

To fit the guard and have the seat back in position you need to fit it to the separate mounts in the cargo area (behind the seats and below the luggage blind).

This was doing my head in, and I felt there had to be a simple answer, and something I was overlooking. Hopefully the answer will help someone else too...
