    Default Brake pedal hard – 28-04-2010,03:17 PM
    Hi,just bought an 02 A6 2.0 multironic 2 wees ago..yesterday the brake pedal wet very hard ( twice ) while trying to stop with virtually no braking power.then 2 mins later the pedal returned to normal..Any ideas??

    Have you checked the plenum chamber for water? It might have corroded the bottom of the brake servo.

    It certainly sounds like the servo vacuum feed is poor, I think that one has an electric booster pump and this may have failed.

    Anthropogenic climate change, the biggest con inflicted on mankind since religion...

    Best to quote the three letter engine code from the ID label either in the service book or in the spare wheel bay. Regards Peter
