That just look like a phone holder, there's probably a connector point somewhere in the passenger footwell for a lead to plug into. Dosent look like a modern unit at all, probably worthwhile taking it out in favour of a modern bluetooth handsfree, no need for an unsightly phone holder.

Well, it has a connection matrix in the centre so I would guess that it is designed to accept phone holders that are tailored to specific phones.
    Does that make sense !!!!
You need another component between it and the actual phone.

OK I dug some more :

i have the same system. that piece you see holds the phone cradle. the phone holders are made by cullmann (german). the one you need will have two buttons at the bottom for speech control. you can pick them up on ebay now and again. if not go direct (google cullmann). you should have blue tooth also scan your phone in car if finds use pass word 1234 is standard from new.
the blue tooth only works with no phone in the cradle. any problems setting up let me no. have a good read of manual first there is alot you can do with it.
    cheers sean

every phone ive had did. atleast the bluetooth can be used until you locate a cullmann holder (audi do sell them at a price) i got one as part of the deal on purchase of the car.
the numbers on the back of mine are 001554411. and 8po 051 435 dm. one of these is the part number so if you speak to dealer they can get an idea of what you are on about, even though mine is for a 6230i.
    cheers sean
