Hi just did a parasitic drain test and found the fuse causing the drain on my VW Golf Plus 2006 1.9 TDI. Go to check the manual and the same problem as above, the Golf Plus fuse layout is as secret and precious as the coca cola recipe, while the normal golf fuse layout is as common as muck.

Can anyone post me the layout?

    Thanks

I'm not sure if every fuse serves the same purpose, but the Caddy van has the same fusebox. That might be better than nothing, or it might lead you down a huge rabbit hole.

Thanks for the reply. Got it from elsawin. It didn't help much though I had a full diagram. Need a diagnostic scanner.

Vcds is too expensive at Ł199 and needs a laptop, odbEleven was better and cheaper at just Ł35 with a smartphone, but they have jacked prices up to Ł70.

Now looking at a Ł7 ELM327 PIC18F25K80 scanner that hopefully does VAG vehicles codes with the 'Deep ODB' app on google play! Fingers crossed.

Out of interest, what fuse was the current drain on?

What are you using the scan tool for? Seems like an odd tool to use to diagnose a drain.

Hi it was fuse 23. Light switch, rain and light sensor, magnetic field sensor and diagnostic port which was pulling 0.4A and just 0.04A (40mA)when taken out.
I have a headlight out btw. Obviously everything was off when testing for the drain.
Assuming a ecu is still alive because something is wrong so diagnostic scan will hopefully pinpoint it

Eh, you do realize the fuse you've highlighted is actually 43? Looks like there is no fuse in position 23 in your photo.

If your draw is on 43 you should try disconnecting the alarm siren. I've had a few issues with those in the past. I've never dealt with one on a Golf+ but on the standard Golf it's mounted behind the driver's front wing above the plastic wheel arch liner. To be honest on a 2006 car I would just toss the alarm fuse in the bin and live without the alarm.
