I've only recently bought the car but here goes. The airbag light won't go out, a couple of times the car has beeped at me and flashed up the Electro-Hyrdaulic Steering light and the Handbreak light at the same time. It also beeps at me everytime I turn the ignition to start the car?

I was advised to put it on a computer and the man said it could be the alternator?!

It seems like when I start the car, it's willing to go, then after a while it struggles to accelerate.

    Help!

cheers for the quick reply, when you say check the ecu for airbags etc, do they have their own ecu or are they part of the main ecu?

    excuse my ignorance!!

Just a thought, are your brake lights working? Failed brake light switch/bulbs can cause all sorts of error messages. The switch costs £9.55 at main dealer and is easy to fit. Bulbs are a bit of a pain, the light unit has to come off but it's not too bad - bulb is stop/tail 5/21W type.

Re lack of power see this post:- https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/s...ad.php?t=94233. It's Golf related but may help.

Upon closer inspection, the hose that connected to the intercooler was off! Back to full power, still need to resolve the break / air bag issues.

data bus faults could be caused by a voltage fault
load signal from alternator could be due to battery going too low
check the alternator freewheel pulley to see if its ok
    cancell faults and recheck

I'll put the multimeter on it and see what its gettin. I'll also put the battery charger on and try boost that up too.

Pulley seems ok, belt is nice and tight.

Cheers, for your advice will let you know.
