    Hello,

A friend of mine is about to have the tracking checked on his polo, and we were having a look at the steering gear but I can't see where you adjust the tracking ? I have told him to take it to a garage but we are curious as neither of us can see where the adjustment nut is on the track rod ?

After the track rod end there is a securing nut.
With this loosened you will be able to turn the steering arm completely to lengthen or shorten the rack and therefore alter the toe in/out.
To turn the steering arm there is part of the arm/shaft that is hexagonally shaped to allow a spanner to be acted on it.

See pic below green is securing nut, red is threaded part for track rod end blue is about where the hex part is.
