Firstly I would like to say hello as this is my first post.

Recently purchased an A4 Avant B7 that came fitted with Concert CD + Bose. I have been trying to find out which model Dension unit to purchase. Searching through these forums, I think my radio is a Concert II with ISO connector (single DIN). This makes the model of Dension to be GW16AC2, this will give me the text display on the DIS. Searching online most of the shops are selling the non text version or are not specific enough for me to purchase.

Local supplier can get me this model with adaptor lead for £140, but if it is the wrong one they wont take it back, (Seat dealer).

Just asking on hear for clarification.

    Thanks in advance,

    Martin

    Hi Martin,

GW16AC2 is the corect part for your vehicle, as long as you see the radio station name on your DIS (between rev-counter and speedo) whilst listening to FM radio (e.g. Radio 1)

You can purchase from www.ipodcarkitdirect.co.uk if you are looking for an alternative place to get the kit from.

    Cheers

    Simon @ Dension

Thanks for the replies. I contacted In Car Ipod today and now I am a bit confused. The guy I spoke to said that my radio may not be able to display the text info from the ipod onto my DIS, in the centre of the dash. He said to try it, I should play a recently released CD, I would see the info displayed on the dash, eg artist, album, track name etc. Thought this info was only created when tracks were ripped to mp3 format. At work at the moment, and unable to try this.

Any further assistance would be grateful.

    Cheers

    Martin

I am not here to advertise, just assist with enquiries. In the future I will of course mention one of your "sponsors"! I am a member of the technical support team for Dension so I am not bothered where our products are purchased from!

As mentioned, the easiest way to check if your vehicle will display text on your DIS cluster, is by listening to a FM station, and seeing if the radio station name appears on the top section of that cluster.

I'm afraid that's not correct. If you'd like to buy from a VAG specialist that knows the A4 inside out, give us a call and we can help you.

As Simon confirmed though (Hi mate!) - you need the GW16AC2 for the Concert radio in your B7.

Your products come highly recommended from most of the internet

VWAF supporters pay to keep this site free for our members who are of course free to purchase from anywhere they choose.

There's no need to mention any of our sponsors (although all three in this field sell your products) in your posts, you just can't mention those who don't support!

Thanks for helping out too, it hasn't gone unnoticed
