I'll grant you, my a**e end wasn't as bad as that, but with four plumes of orange/brown mud covering the wings to the quarterlights, I swear lava grey even makes the best base-coat for dirt

To make matters worse, I transported my grandfathers washing machine from South Wales to my sisters in Surrey today. He passed away two years ago, so it hasn't been used since. Now the inside of my car smells of the sewer with a hint of 2 year old fabric conditioner! :-(

No, but it took 2 washes to get the car back to it's original colour

Is Lava Grey really that hard to keep clean? I know its dark but through the slight 'dark brown met' look might help hide dirt and dust :-S
Is it harder or easier than owning a black car?

I dont mind working hard to get a shiney look, however I hate it when you leave the drive and all that hard work is wasted within minutes. Learnt my lesson owning a black car a few year back. Now own a audi in denim blue (I think thats the right name for it) which retains shine whilst hiding most of the muck. Can leave it for over a week and it still looks clean, as though it was washed that day.

Love Lava Grey, looks stunning when clean but so do black. However I'm not prepared to go through all the hassle that I had with owning a black car :-(

Also, how does it fair with scratches and whirl marks, similar to black?

Having previously owner Phantom Black, Lava is ALOT easier to keep clean, trust me.
Dust..........my best pal has a solid black Black Edition and side by side on a dusty harbour road a few weeks back his certainly was showing the dust more than mine.

If you are seriously thinking of Lava, go for it, you will not be disappointed..........but I am bias.

Mine seems to survive quite well on a (hand) wash every 3-4 weeks, occasionaly it seems to scoop all the "dusty rain" going onto the rear bumper within day or two of being washed but in general the metallic shine helps it keep looking good. I'd recommend it :-)

Actually really quite easy to keep clean. I also use autoglym rapid detailer between polishing and waxing and I'm very impressed by this.

Went to see a A4 S-Line in Lava Grey today... and OMG I love it!!!
The car had been sitting there for a while so had build up a bit of dust on it, however it wasnt as viewable as I thought it would as it being a dark colour.

Shame its a rare colour, well it seems to be rare, as I would really love to have this colour :-) JEALOUS!!! lol

That's the view I had when my local dealer had a new demo lava. Up till then it was going to be another Phantom Black.

Nearly two years on and I would not have it any other way, I just lov Audi dark grey shades.

This is a good one to show the colour change in the sun
