Why does my A4 keep bleeping !

Hi

My 1999 A4 Avant 1.9 TDi has recently started to bleep for no apparent reason.

I have checked the LED display for faults when the car is first started and evrthing clears and I get the OK symbol.

I have checked, Oil level, Coolant level, screen fluid level, brake fluid level.

When driving the engine oil and coolant temps are spot on.

When I get the bleeping, I don't get any warning symbols.

There is no logical times to the bleeps and they are not affected by speed, nor outside temp

I mainly get 3 bleeps, but also 1 and occasionally 2

The car was fully serviced 2 months ago and the service indicator re-set at that time.

I have run out of ideas and the sound is driving me nuts.

Any suggestions ? (no matter how daft as I will try anything)

probably not much help but the only time my 1.9 beeped 3 times I had the brake warning light come on (and that was only when it was -1 or colder). Turned out I had a dead cell on the battery.

Might be the max speed warning, you can change and set a speed warning, cant remember exactly how to set/reset. Think a mph warning pops up when it sounds.
Its all explained in the owners handbook.
